Module Assignment: I will be present. Each family will read one of the "This I Believe" essays, collaborate on the questions below and then present their analysis to the group.

Here are the five stories, one for each family:

page 76, 112, 115, 131 & 200

 1. Did you enjoy the piece? Why or why not? Was it good?

2. What was the theme of the piece? How specifically did the author succeed in communicating that theme?
3. What was either effective about the introduction of the piece? How did it accentuate the overall importance of the piece?

Assignments:

WRITE: You will begin working on your "This I Believe" piece. Each student in the Stockton freshmen class is to write one. They will be submitted to NPR. Therefore, it is not technically my assignment, but it will count as Essay #3. The specific guidelines and information for the essay MUST be followed and can be found here under the "PARTICIPATE" heading. The essay will be due Thursday, before the end of module.
